Kay on the Rough and Ready wagon train

I started this site because I have been making jewelry most of my life, and I'd rather not say how long that is.

I have a BA in commercial art, and was a graphic designer and illustrator for about 20 years.

I was in gem clubs, bead societies, and made ceramic beads at the Berkeley Potters Guild, and sold jewelry in the San Francisco bay area stores.

I went on wagon trains just for fun.

In the other clubs that I participated in, like the Sierra Muzzeloaders re-enacting the fur trade era, I studied Native American beading.

When I relocated from the San Francisco Bay area to the serenity of the Sierra Nevada Mountains, I met my incredible helpmate, a jeweler.

We have great adventures trekking around searching for gemstones, crystals,and gold in hidden canyons of the west.

I am now studying computer art at Sierra College, which allows us to go on the internet.

I love the beauty of gemstones, the colors and how light reflects of of them, and the harmonizing textures of natural materials such as pearls, shells and carved horn.

So, here we are, ready to share all of this rich experience with you.
